  • ATV

  • Some of the best ATV trails in the country are located right here in Fort Kent. A recently renovated railroad track bed has been converted into
    an ATV/walking/snowmobile trail. The trail is known as "The Heritage Trail" and goes from Market St in Fort Kent 18 miles west to St. Francis.

    Snowmobiling

  • Sled rentals are available as well as guided snowmobile tours. The area offers the largest snowmobile trail system in the United States.

    Bike Tours

  • Many miles of converted rail beds for off-road riding as well as Aroostook Counties beautiful rural roads await you. A local bike event, Le Tour de Valle,
    held the third week of August from Fort Kent to Madawaska to benefit the American Cancer Society.

    Hunting

  • Guides are available for moose hunting. Moose hunting permits are issued by the state through a lottery system. The season for hunting moose is in late
    September and early October. For more information about moose hunting in Maine visit http://www.state.me.us/ifw/hunting_trapping/hunting/moose.htm. Besides moose Maine is an excellent place for hunting deer, game birds, rabbit and bear. Open season dates for the previous game are generally late August through December.

    Ice & Open Fishing

  • On our many nearby lakes, rivers and brooks. Aroostook has regulations for both ice and open season fishing. You are even able to purchase your fishing license on-line.

  • A site designed for world-class competition the Maine Winter Sports Center has hosted the 2000 Jr. National Biathlon Championships and the 2000 North American, Canadian, and U.S. National Biathlon Championships.

    Sled Dog Races

  • Three different races a 250, 60 and a 30 mile race. The 250 race is the longest and highest caliber race in the eastern United States. It is a joy to see all the dogs as they begin their day at the heart of downtown Fort Kent.
